I know that when it comes right down to it, you don’t always want to read an entire article to find out if you should see a movie or not. So, with this in mind, I give you my quick picks, short, to the point reasons why you should or shouldn’t see the films that are opening this weekend. Think of it as a strategy guide for moviegoers.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief: C-

• Why you should see it: You’re looking for something to scratch your Harry Potter itch until the new film comes out.
• Why you should pass: Though it follows the Potter formula, the ingredients are too generic to cast the same spell on the audience.

The Wolfman: D+

• Why you should see it: You want to see another classic movie franchise die a horrible death.
• Why you should pass: The film can’t decide if it is a thriller or a gore flick, but it’s greatest offense is that it’s ultimately boring.

Valentine’s Day: F-

• Why you should see it: You have to bring a valentine’s date to a movie.
• Why you should pass: He/She’s not worth it.
