Quick Picks
By Darrell Mashia
I know that when it comes right down to it, you don’t always want to read an entire article to find out if you should see a movie or not. So, with this in mind, I give you my quick picks, short, to the point reasons why you should or shouldn’t see the films that are opening this weekend. Think of it as a strategy guide for moviegoers.
Law Abiding Citizen: C-
- Why you should see it: Stuff blows up and there’s far more blood than you’d expect.
- Why you should pass: Horrible acting and an absurd plot that could have easily been solved in about 5 minutes.
The Stepfather: D-
- Why you should see it: You have a date that actually doesn’t want to see Where the Wild Things Are.
- Why you should pass: It’s cliché, watered down and unforgivably boring.
Where the Wild Things Are: B-
- Why you should see it: You want to see a “kids” film that scares the crap out of kids.
- Why you should pass: Huge fans of the book will be disappointed with this adaptation.
