I know that when it comes right down to it, you don’t always want to read an entire article to find out if you should see a movie or not. So, with this in mind, I give you my quick picks, short, to the point reasons why you should or shouldn’t see the films that are opening this weekend. Think of it as a strategy guide for moviegoers.

The Blind Side: B

• Why you should see it: It’s a warm, fuzzy and truly inspiring true-life story.
• Why you should pass: Can feel pretty hokey at times.

Planet 51: D+

• Why you should see it: The Rock is in it!
• Why you should pass: it feels more like a Saturday morning cartoon than a film. And the fact that most characters look like Shrek doesn’t do it any favors.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon: D

• Why you should see it: You’re a member of team Jacob.
• Why you should pass: If you close your eyes while watching the film, it literally feels as though you’re standing in the middle of a Hot Topic.
