Released in the U.S. on October 26th of 2000, Sony's Playstation 2 took the game industry by storm. Priced at $129.99 Sony's system continues to outsell other competitor's current gen systems in Japan. With it's built in DVD player and backwards compatibility, the PS2 was instrumental in ushering in the age of the DVD.
