If you don’t have the board game or if you don’t have the friends to play with, this game can come in handy. It’s also good for someone who’s just starting out. Although, this game isn’t a game that you can sit down at and play several games of on your own since there’s no conversations to be had and no real excitement to keep you awake.
Gameplay:
You roll the dice and you move the allotted spaces. The computer will indict where you’re able to go with your shake of the dice (one indication for one dice, one for the other dice, and one for them combined).
• Single Player - you play against the computer. You can pick your skill level.
• Multi-player – There aren’t a lot of people online for this game so chances are you’ll have to send a game invite if you’re playing with a friend.
This is a good way to learn how to play backgammon if you’ve never played it before or to hone your skills before playing against someone who does know what they are doing. There are times when it seems like the computer is cheating and either landing on you (thus sending you back) or getting double numbers and getting off the board quicker. But most of the time I felt the computer was too easy to beat and play against, even on the various skill levels that the game offers.
I like the game of backgammon and I thought I would like this game a lot, but it’s just not the same when you’re playing against the computer. Playing against a stranger on XBL isn’t as much fun either unless you’re the kind who can strike up random conversations with complete strangers. So while I like this game, it’s definitely not one I would pay for. There are too many other places on the internet where you can play for free. People who like to get achievements will like this game since the achievements are pretty each to get.
My Final Score is a 6
