Johnny Bravo…poor poor Johnny Bravo is sitting at home with his mom and friends eagerly waiting to hear who the final contestant will be on the game show Date-O-Rama. You see him talking to TV, being called out as the last contestant, and then magically appearing at the TV studio to participate. And that’s where the mini-games begin.

Oh yea…this is yet ANOTHER DS game filled with mini-games, surprised, aren’t you? I knew you would be!

So the goal of this game is simple. You want to win the game and the date with the blonde woman you see on the screen. In order to do this you’ll need to win the mini-games and reach the top of the staircase before your opponent does. Each round the blonde woman will spin the wheel; the arrow will stop on one of the eight mini-games, if you win the challenge, then you get to move up one step.

The eight mini-games are: Muscle Madness, Strike a Pose, Taking out the Trash, Fast Food Fight, Mouse in the House, Cookie Chaos, Macho Man, and Flower Power. You’ll want to either read the manual (oh no, not that!) or use the “help” feature in the pause menu to actually figure out what buttons you need to press because the directions given at the beginning of each mini-game don’t go into specific enough details to let you know how to actually play and win.

Once you know the buttons to push or where to press on the Touch Screen these mini-games are relatively easy to master and you’ll be winning most of them with ease. The opponent’s only real chances of winning come with the “Risk Wheel” that is intermittently spun (if you pick up the big “?” in the mini-game). Here you get the chance to win/lose heartbreakers, win an unlockable, or move up/down steps.

The graphics of this game are mediocre at best. This game certainly doesn’t push the envelope; in fact it doesn’t even attempt to push it. The graphics aren’t horrible but they aren’t anything to write home about and they don’t help their cause any either. You’ll be able to recognize most items on the screen, most.

The audio in the game is much like the graphics. They are there for the game but nothing to write home about and nothing that pushes the envelope. You’ll hear the familiar Johnny Bravo song throughout the game. So it may be wise to just turn off the sound while you’re playing through or else risk going insane by the time you’re done.

This game isn’t so bad that I turned it on and then turned it off right away but it does get repetitive as you’ll probably have to play some of the mini-games a couple of times before someone (you) wins the date. Playing the same mini-game with the same result of you winning gets boring pretty fast. Seeing the same catch phrases for all the characters scroll across the screen over and over and over again gets old too. So you’re thinking, what did you really think of this game? “Meh” pretty much covers it. So unless you’re a fan of Johnny Bravo or the Cartoon Network or maybe even dating games, I don’t know who I would recommend this game to.
