Halloween is right around the corner and Bakery Story has been given a makeover to help celebrate the Holiday! Whether you’re new to the series or familar with it, it’s definitely one to check out. Previous versions of the game are the original, the Olympic Gamers version, and now the Halloween one.

Just like in past versions of the game you’ll have ovens and drink machines to build, food and drinks to make, and costumers to serve. The more you serve, the more money you make for decorating and expanding your little Bakery. Decorating your Bakery is fun to do to help make the Holidays more fun.

What’s new?
There is new baking equipment for you to beg parts for and build! Once you build these new contraptions you can start making some of the new recipes which includes blood for the vampires (reminds me a little of True Blood), Cauldron Cupcakes, Spider Brownies, Witch Hat cookies, and a lot of other goodies.

The Customers are all dressed up in costumes! As you watch your guests filter into your bakery you’ll see them all dressed up and ready to party. There’s little variety in the costumes but still a new diversion from the norm and something else for you to check out and look at.

The story also brings you some new goodies to add to your bakery if you feel up to it or have the money to spend on them. You can check out the Halloween themed Vampire chairs, Frankenstein Tables, Mummy Baker, Bats, and Webs. You can go all out if you have the time, the energy, and money to do so.

There are also new challenges for you to meet! If you can make a Monster bash in your bakery you’ll earn rewards.

These are most of the “new” items that Bakery Story: Halloween will bring your way. This update is good, even if it’s just a change of view from your old Bakery Story environment. Once again the update is free from the iTunes store. I’m curious to see what Holiday they will reinvent the bakery for, I’m sure it’s right around the corner!

The 2012 Olympics in London are almost upon us. It’s just a matter of days until opening ceremony! Is anyone feeling the pride and the excitement? Team Lava is. Their latest installment takes Bakery Story and kicks it up a notch to get into the spirit of the games.

If you’re new to the Bakery Story App, make sure to check out my review for it here on the site. That review will get you some more basics to the game. This one refers mostly to the upgrade to World Games.

With the London 2012 Olympics right around the corner, this newest installment is fittingly called; Bakery Story: World Games. This upgraded version of Bakery Story gives you all the same basics but adds several new items to get you in the mood for the Olympics. You have themed counters, ovens, drink machines, decorations, and challenges.

Yes! New challenges! Bakery Story had some but once you completed them, there weren’t any new ones for a long time. Now they are back but most of them cost gems in order to complete them. So for people who do the in-game purchases of gems or for those of you who are like me and saved up all the gems from completed tasks, you’ll be using them here.

There will also be a lot of requesting and begging of supplies from your neighbors so the more you have, the better off you’ll be. You’ll need supplies for just about everything you need to build, so get to adding those friendly neighbors, you’ll be needing them.

Do you have the old Bakery Story and don’t feel like downloading the new version? Don’t worry, for now it is still supported and you can carry on. Although I’m sure that the curiosity will get to you in no time and you’ll want to check it out.

Do you have the old Bakery Story but afraid to download the new version in fear of losing all your data or starting over? Have no fear. By downloading this version, you’ll start off right where you left off with Bakery Story. No starting over, no loss of data. Download the new App and you’re ready to go.

The themes and the layout are a quirky and fun update to this App. It gives Bakery Story a breath of fresh air and gives you something new to look at.

The free pricetag is also an added bonus. I like free Apps that work and keep me coming back. I have to admit that I don’t spend as much time on this App as I did when I first got it, but it’s nice to check in and make sure that my little Bakery is still making money and to periodically change things around.
